English Paper Piecing is an ideal summer project as you can take in on holiday or work on it in the garden and take advantage of the nice weather. My current essentials are:
- Glue Pen Glue basting is one of my favourite things to do and for me it’s much quick than thread basting, especially on bigger pieces.
- Thread Gloss Thread Gloss or Conditioner is used to help stop your thread tangling, it also usually smells great! I like SewFine as the tin is a perfect size and they have some fun seasonal scents.
- Thread Aurifil 80wt is my current prefer thread for EPP, I’ve found 5021 is the perfect neutral for blending in. (if I’m using black fabric and a colour I think it’s always best to use black thread as it blends better).
- Needle Threader I find a needle threader is handy for working with such a fine thread and to stop you squinting.
Lastly I really like my June Tailor Cut n Press, it’s perfect for using as a lap table.
